Background 

As the core hub city of the national strategy such as “Western Development”, “One Belt and One Road” and “Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Belt”, Chongqing is the turning point of the historical destiny of China.

Beibei in Chongqing is an inevitable choice of history. The construction of Beibei Township in China has laid a national vision of the modernization of China. It is not only of significance but also with the necessity of geopolitics. It has the same geopolitical reason for choosing the location of the accompanying capital during the world war II. Therefore, the Chinese Rural Construction Institute is also located in Beibei.

Beijing Dashilan: International Public Art Study Workshop

The “International Public Art Study Workshop” launched by Public Art Cooperation Center (PACC) and Public Art Magazine of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai University, and undertaken by Studio for Public Art Theory & International Exchange of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts is a long-term program with regular research activities taking place every year. This international and inter-cultural research platform—the “International Public Art Study Workshop” is designed to enhance academic exchange and cooperation between countries. This new platform will encourage researchers to work open-mindedly with a global vision and advanced academic level so as to foster the development of international public art study.

DASHILAR: La Storia del signor Hu, artigiano di pennelli

Sita nel cuore di Pechino, a poche centinaia di metri da Piazza Tiannanmen, c’è Dashilan o Dashilar,  un’ area residenziale costruita in epoca Ming, di grande valore storico-culturale per la città. Queste case, tramandate di generazione in generazione hanno costituito il modo di vivere della famiglia cinese tradizionale. Si parla dello siheyuan (四合院) un stile architettonico per cui diverse abitazioni, circondano lo stesso cortile su quattro lati: uno spazio semi-pubblico in cui la condivisione tra nuclei familiari ne diventa principio fondamentale.
